I woke up at 4:30 this morning thinking about the trip. After watching so many videos of other people traveling across the country, I’m about to try it myself. I leave Thursday at noon.
I’m excited, but I’m worried too. Will the truck make it across the country without problems? Will something break on the trailer? A few days into it, will I wonder what I was thinking?
This is my first RV. I’ve completed its initial checkup and required maintenance, and I’ve taken it camping locally in North Carolina. That has helped me learn the equipment, but almost two months away is a much bigger test.
The plan is to head west toward Joshua Tree, where my best friend from college will meet me on October 6. I’ll continue working during the trip and spend time exploring outside work hours.
I’m already thinking about another trip, possibly through Canada and back toward Joshua Tree. That may be getting ahead of myself. This trip hasn’t even started, and I still need to find out whether I like living and traveling this way.
