I planned to wash the trailer Monday or Tuesday, but today I started clearing leaves off it and noticed how much the roof needed cleaning. That became Sunday’s first job.
There’s still plenty to do: pack, organize, prepare the truck, and finish setting up the equipment I’ll use for work. The gear pile keeps growing. Replacement bearings and cups, recovery boards, ladders, and the other things I keep reading about all need somewhere to go.
The bearings are for a possible repair, not because I suddenly know how to fix everything. If I need a mechanic, I’d rather have the parts available than wait for someone to find them. Hopefully, they’ll come home unused.
Every time I think I’m close to ready, another RV post or YouTube video turns up something else to buy or check. I’m starting to wonder how much preparation is enough.
My wife also mentioned that leaving the trailer parked on the road while I get ready might be a problem. Hopefully, the neighbors don’t complain before I finish packing.
The wash went well, although some brown spots remain on the roof. I don’t know yet whether they’re stains or something I need to address before leaving.
I’m not ready to go yet, but the trailer is getting cleaned and the packing is underway. Departure is getting closer.
