Two days until I leave, and today I filled the truck for the trip: 34.356 gallons for $107.16. That included a dollar off per gallon. I’ve done the fuel calculations, but seeing the amount on the pump still got my attention. Holy crap.
Then my air pump died while I was putting air in the tires. I’ve had it for a while, but two days before departure would not have been my choice of timing.
I also spent time getting the Android tablet working in the truck. Bluetooth is connected, and music plays through the speakers. ChatGPT’s audio doesn’t. I haven’t figured out why yet.
Meanwhile, the jack I ordered is taking its own road trip. It shipped September 1 and reached New Jersey the next day. From there, it went to Oregon, then North Carolina, and then back across the country. As of this morning, it had left Phoenix, Arizona. I’m in North Carolina.
FedEx’s update says the delivery date is unavailable. I’m leaving Thursday. At this rate, the package may get to Joshua Tree before I do.
Tomorrow, I need to get the trailer weighed. There’s still packing to finish too. Two days to go.
